Extremities Pain2018-09-06T20:32:46+00:00

Many people are under the impression that chiropractors only adjust the spine. This was more true in the past, and is still true for some chiropractic offices today. However, current comprehensive chiropractic education includes extremity adjusting, and research has shown that an increase in range of motion and in functionality, as well as a decrease in pain can be expected after getting an extremity properly adjusted. Feet including toes, ankles, knees, and hips can all benefit from an adjustment in the lower extremity. In the upper extremity fingers, hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders, scapulae all can be adjusted to increase functionality and decrease pain. In addition jaw joints (TMJ) can be adjusted, the ears can be adjusted to improved drainage through the Eustachian tubes, and the sutures of the skull can be manipulated to reduce tension (Cranio-Sacral Therapy).

At Stabilized Chiropractic all extremities will be evaluated during the initial examination. Extremity adjusting is included into each and every appointment, with the focus placed upon the joints that need the most attention. Extremities can also be the beneficiary of Shockwave and LASER Therapies, as well as scraping/Gua Sha, taping, stretches, and massage. The philosophy at Stabilized Chiropractic is to examine the patient as a complete system, and we recognize that a weakness or imbalance in one area of the body with have effects throughout the other regions of the system.
